2005 Bow River Flooding  Total destruction of Policeman's access as the flood waters breach the bank. The placid wetland, in foreground, is now a raging back channel. The Government failed to respond to the problem in 2005. As of late October 2006, Policeman's access is still "dead". Fish & Wildlife is talking about a possible access in the area for 2007. The Bow is also threatened with a housing development just yards downstream of Policeman's. For information on development click on link below.

Update......As of mid September 2007 NOTHING has been done. Fish & Wildlife have been totally inept as there has been NO PROGRESS AT ALL. Another guiding season will have passed (the 3rd season) and Policeman's still doesn't exist for some of the guiding community and the general public. The development company that will build the housing project just downstream of Policeman's has, since the flood, provided a private boat launch for a small fishing group. There has been no public outcry over this situation. It is business as usual for Alberta's Tory government. Shame on them!
