Bow River ~ Pre Trip Check List

Be prepared - words to live by. The Bow River is a truly great trout stream and the provenance of many life long memories. When visiting the Bow, for the first time, it is important to acquaint oneself with what you might expect to encounter.

what to bring  This page lists items to bring on the river.

trip information  This section is important! It lists such things as: booking form, fishing license, calendar trip planner, contact information, fishing packages, rates and weather links. For novice anglers the Additional Information Menu has pages on casting and trout identification. The casting page is a written account of the fly casting stroke (back cast and forward cast) along with an animated gif of the complete cast. A picture truly is worth a thousand words. This page is a must see for beginner and novice fly fishers. There are also pages that put you in the world of the trout - where trout live, why, how they feed and much more. 

main   This page provides an over view of site navigation. It describes both the "drop down menu" and the "left slide in menu". I have over 400 pages on my fly fishing and fly tying sites. I believe these menus provide seem-less and convenient navigation.

newsletters   Almost 15 years of how the river fished from ice off to snow and the end of guiding season. 

photos   A dozen years of pictorial documentation of scenic vistas and typical trout residing in the Bow River. Also included are videos along with several slide shows. The "Cooliris" slide show is a 3D experience that is the absolute coolest photo presentation I've ever seen.
