Bow River Fly Fishing
Navigation - Clicking Enter on the home page gives you a choice of web sites - Fly Fishing or Fly Tying. In the Fly Fishing site there are six main sections each with sub pages. The Fly Tying site has two main sections also with sub pages. Navigation of these web sites is by way of a Java script "drop down menu" found at the bottom of this page. All section main pages have this drop down menu. Some of the sub pages have a "left slide in menu" as seen on the left side of your monitor. It is a grey bar and when you hover the mouse on the bar the menu slides out. This slide out menu allows for site navigation without taking up valuable space and causing needless scrolling. As the site grows in size easy navigation becomes much more difficult. The more content there is on a page the less room on the page for the entire menu. For that reason I chose to use these menu styles. The old saying, "less is more" applies in this case. If you find the text size too small change it to larger print by clicking on "View" and "Text Size" on your browser. Most photos in this site are high resolution and are best viewed at a setting of 1280 by 1024 pixels, or higher, and a high color setting. To change your settings, right click on your desk top, click properties and then settings. This site should also be viewed in full screen. To do this either click on the "full screen" icon on your browser or hit F11 on your keyboard. Some of the DHTML effects in this site are not possible to view when using web browsers other than Internet Explorer. A computer tech person was recently singing the praises of the Fire Fox web browser. Upon inspection I found that it is more stable, more friendly, more robust than IE 7 and less appealing to hackers given the smaller number of users. For these reasons it is now my default browser. Web pages will look a little different depending on the browser used and your monitor settings. |
