Alberta Government MIA ( Missing In Action )
The date is August 2/2005 and to my knowledge there still hasn't been anything done by the Alberta Government concerning river access points. After repeated attempts to contact my Member of the Legislative Assembly Heather Forsyth, and other government people, I've hit a brick wall. They don't care and it seems they never did. I can't even get the phone call promised by Clint Dunford, Economic Development Minister. Seems that Mr. Chandler needed a 4 day week end as he won't be in the office until tomorrow.
The guiding community has been creative in accessing the river in spite of the Alberta Government and at one site resorted to cutting the cable fence to get to the river.
The following are government people that have been contacted by myself and to date have only sent form letters with no substantive information about the problem and no plan of action with no time table for repair. This is absolutely shameful in a rich province like Alberta.

This email started things rolling. Click here to see email. This MIA forwarded my email on to her colleagues. I live in her riding and this is the best she could do. |

A direct quote from Mr. Dunford's email of July 18/05 "As I said in my June 30, 2005 letter, I am not the lead Minister on this flooding and access issue". Sounds to me as if he is ducking the issue. Click here to view email string correspondence. This MIA sent me letters and emails without substantive content, made promises and didn't keep them. |

This MIA is the Premier. He is in charge and is also a fly fisherman. He couldn't be bothered to respond to any of my pleas. Isn't that ironic! |
